Solitudes

Cool architecture made out of reinforced concrete, steel and glass; individuals that need to hurt themselves to feel alive; small human figures striving against the ostensible superiority of buildings. "Solitudes" is an attempt to show a world that is marked by a constant oscillation between solidness and fragility; fortitude and weakness. These images question man's seemingly increasing estrangement from his environment.

The play between the light and the structures supports the oscillation depicted in the series, which reflects on the different meanings of the word solitude – interpreting it beyond its negative connotation regarding loneliness and instead acknowledging its positive aspects of silently and introvertedly connecting with the world.
